DREAMING

Am I but a puppet
to be jerked around by opposing realities

One cannot tell the difference between
waking consciousness and the dream world
while dreaming intently I was rudely yanked
back into waking reality

but in truth the reality of which
is but apparently relative
one no more real than the other

to distinguish between the two (realities)
one would be hard pressed
yea, unable to do so
except for one thing--
in the dream the thought of making such a distinction
never occurs
under the power of the dream
one is intimately, totally involved
only in conscious waking moments are such distinctions made

Again, the power of the dream
is so all-powerful that reflection is not an option

     His mind is natural and true, unshadowed by reflection...
     for wherever conscious purpose is seen, there
     the truth and innocence of nature have been lost. (I CHING)

So, it follows that conscious reality
reflective as it is, is deceptive, untrue
'tis not the dream that is illusory
but waking consciousness itself

thus the credo:  FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS
a fundamental injunction of truth
